How do I clean crazings on vintage pottery and is it possible?

I have loads of vintage ironstone pottery, mostly white or offwhite. They all have different degree's of crazing due to age but the crazing is dark in some areas making the crackle noticable and look bad. I wonder if it is possible to remove these 'dirty' spots to make the crackle less noticable.
