Why did The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus make two versions of 'Face Down'?

One is longer, they sing slightly different notes in both, pronouce the words differently and hold some notes longer. And in the shorter one, there's a part where they scream and the longer one is the same, except they have the lead singer screaming, and a recording of him singing the part. Why is is like that??? And why are there two versions?
