1997 Dodge Intepid Cuts out!?

I am trying to fix this car for my wifes aunt. It is a six cyl dodge intrepid 1997 that will start up and run great then suddenly turn off.Either while it drives or just sitting in my yard idling. My gut instinct is that its a fuel problem. I don't think its the pump,because it would not start at all. Fuel pump relay? Something else?Any ideas?
